​IDC is affiliated with Illinois Youth Dance Theatre (IYDT), a non-profit​, world-class pre-professional ballet company. IYDT was founded in 2000 by Alyce Keaggy Brinkmann, the Owner and Artistic Director of IDC. IYDT performs two ballets each year, one in the Spring and The Nutcracker in December.  Most IDC students in the Academy and Pre-Professional divisions are also members of IYDT, giving them the opportunity to perform in full theater productions. ​
